Still Me: Aphasia, Caregiving & Connection

Janu Orrick and Demetrius Moreno

In Still Me, Janu Orrick and Demetrius Moreno share the survivor and care-partner sides of life after stroke. Their conversation explores expressive aphasia, apraxia, the importance of patient listening, caregiver mental health, financial strain, isolation, hope, and the slow work of rebuilding communication. Their experience also led to AphasiaPals, a non-clinical conversation-support service. AphasiaPals is conversation practice and peer connection, not speech therapy or a replacement for SLP care.
