Frequently asked questions

What is The Broken Road Project?

The Broken Road Project is a Christian nonprofit organization based in Stephenville, Texas. We support stroke survivors and others recovering from life-altering medical events through spiritual encouragement, resources, community outreach, and storytelling. We believe no one should walk the road to recovery alone.

Is this a religious organization?

Yes. We are a faith-based organization rooted in Christian values. While our work is centered on Jesus Christ and the healing power of faith, our support is available to anyone—regardless of religious background.

Who started The Broken Road Project?

The organization was founded by Trent Peterson, a husband, father, and Stephenville resident, after suffering a major stroke in 2024. His recovery journey, powered by faith, family, and community, inspired him to help others who feel lost, alone, or overwhelmed after a life-changing medical event.
